Man United Finally Axe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been dismissed as Manchester United manager after a humiliating 4-1 defeat at Watford on Saturday, 20 November, at Vicarage Road stadium.
Solskjaer spent almost three years at Stanford Bridge without a trophy and the club has had an incredibly poor season – despite bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back – now occupying position 8 of the EPL table.
A few minutes after the embarrassing defeat, the club issued a statement announcing its decision to part ways with its legend.
Man United wrote: “Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision.”
The club added: “While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.”
Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is reportedly United’s first target for a permanent replacement, however, Solskjaer’s assistant Michael Carrick will be in temporary charge until the club announces their new boss.
